Homemade Fruit Roll Ups

Does your favorite junk food call your name in the middle of the night and you have to answer? Let’s be real — sometimes those stubborn little urges are hard to ignore! Luckily, you don’t have to run to the store anymore for your late-night cravings, because you make can your favorite classic snacks at home!

4 cups mixed berries – choose your favorites!
1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon lemon zest
Honey to taste

Heat up the oven to 200 degrees F. Blend your fruit of choice and the sugar, and add lemon juice to taste. Then, bring the blended fruit to a simmer over medium-high heat. Then, bring the heat down to medium low and cook about 30-40 minutes.

Stir occasionally at first, then more toward the end until the liquid almost fully evaporates and the mixture thickens. Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil, and spread the cooked fruit into a thin layer. Bake around 3 hours until it is only a little bit sticky.

Let the fruit cool, then peel off the foil. If it’s still moist on the foil side, bake in the oven until dry. Lay the smooth side of the baked fruit on waxed paper. Use a pizza cutter or scissors to carefully cut into strips on the paper. Then roll up the old-school way and enjoy!
