How Do You Like These Apples?

It’s autumn, so you know what that means… it’s candy apple season! You can make delicious candy apples for all of your upcoming festivities — including a candy corn apple for Halloween and turkey apple for Thanksgiving —  with these cool recipes!

CANDY CORN APPLE

Ingredients/Supplies:
Green Apples
Sticks
Wax paper
Caramel squares
White Chocolate Chips
Orange food dye
Yellow sprinkles

Directions: 
1. Remove stem from each apple and replace with a stick.

2. Unwrap caramels and place in a microwavable bowl. 

3. Microwave caramels until melted (about 2 minutes).

4. Dip apple into caramel – place on wax paper and let caramelized apples sit in refrigerator for 15 min. 

5. After letting apple apples sit, put white chocolate chips in a separate microwavable bowl. 

6. Microwave for about 10-20 seconds ( if they are not melted, remove from microwave, stir and put back in for another 5 seconds/ or until melted). 

7. Dip caramelized apples into melted white chocolate (leave a little caramel showing, for layering effect).

8. Place new dipped apples on to a new sheet of wax paper and place in refrigerator for another 15 minutes. 

9. While apples are hardening in refrigerator, melt more white chocolate in a bowl mix in orange food coloring until you achieve desired shade of orange. 

10. Cover plate with yellow sprinkles.

11. After 15 minutes has passed dip apples in melted (orange) white chocolate (again leave some caramel and white showing for layering effect). 

12. Immediately after you dip apples in the orange white chocolate, roll the them around on the plate of yellow sprinkles 

13. Then put finished apples on another sheet of wax paper and let sit for another 15 min.
 

SNOW WHITE APPLE

Ingredients/supplies:
Green Apples
Sticks
Wax paper
White Chocolate Chips
Shredded sweet coconut
Silver Ball sprinkles 

Directions:
1. Remove stem from each apple and replace with a stick.

2. Put white chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl. 

3. Microwave for about 10-20 seconds ( if they are not melted, remove from microwave, stir and put back in for another 5 seconds/ or until melted).

4. Dip apples into melted white chocolate – make sure the whole apple is covered in white chocolate. 

5. Place apples on a sheet of wax paper and put them in the refrigerator – Let sit for about 15 minutes.

6. After you have let the apples sit for 15 minutes, melt more white chocolate and dip apples again to really cover the green apple.

7. Place dipped apples on to a new sheet of wax paper and place in refrigerator 2 minutes. 

8. Spread shredded sweet coconut on a plate. 

9. Take apples out of the refrigerator and roll on the plate of coconut. Cover the apple in coconut.

10. Sprinkle the silver ball sprinkles on top to decorate the apple.

11. Let sit for another 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
 

THANKSGIVING TURKEY APPLE

Ingredients/supplies:
Red Apples
Sticks
Wax paper
Caramel squares 

Directions:
1. You will need two apples for each turkey.

2. Remove stem from each apple and replace with a stick.

3. Unwrap caramels and place in a microwavable bowl. 

4. Microwave caramels until melted (about 2 minutes).

5. Dip all apples into caramel – place on wax paper and let caramelized apples sit in refrigerator for 15 min.

6. After letting apple apples sit, cut sides off one apple to create the wings.

7. Lay the full caramelized on its side and place cut pieces on both sides of the full apple for wings.

8. You can season plate with nuts or cranberries.
 

NEW YEARS APPLE 

Ingredients/supplies:
Green Apples
Sticks
Wax paper
White Chocolate Chips
Purple(or any color) food dye
Edible glitter - Disco dust – any color

Directions:
1. Remove stem from each apple and replace with a stick.

2. Put white chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl. 

3. Microwave for about 10-20 seconds (If they are not melted, remove from microwave, stir and put back in for another 5 seconds/ or until melted).

4. Mix food coloring into melted white chocolate until you reach desired color.

5. Dip apples into melted colored white chocolate (be sure to cover the apple fully in chocolate).

6. Place dipped apples on to a sheet of wax paper.

7. Immediately sprinkle disco dust onto newly dipped apples.

8. Place on a new sheet of wax paper and put in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
