Tamera’s Beef Stroganoff
1 lb beef tenderloin or sirloin steak cut in bite-sized pieces
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cut clove garlic
1 Tablespoon butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
8 – 10 oz sliced mushrooms
1/2 pint sour cream — more if needed or desired
1. Saute meat in butter (or olive oil) with salt, pepper and garlic.
2. Once browned, add cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, and cook uncovered over low heat, stirring occasionally until mixture is thick and meat is tender — about 20 min. Add 1/4 cup water if needed to maintain consistency.
3. Just before serving, add sour cream. Heat but do not boil.
4. Serve over rice, or egg noodles. Makes 4 – 6 servings.
