Chaunda's Top 5 Super Fitness Foods

Hey guys, happy Wednesday! Today I want to share my top 5 Super Fitness Foods with you. I incorporate each of these foods into my diet every week. Check out the awesome health benefits of each and be sure to add them to your healthy lifestyle!

1. WALNUTS

With more dietary fiber, calcium, and vitamin E than any other nut, plus protein and heart-friendly monounsaturated fat, walnuts are a powerhouse. Walnuts help the body burn fat more efficiently.

2. OATMEAL

Since oats are a healthy source of whole grain complex carbohydrates, and release energy very slowly, they keep you going for hours. They also contain more protein than most grains and are bursting with soluble fiber, which helps eliminate cholesterol from the body. 

3. QUINOA

Pronounced "keen-waa," quinoa is one of the best sources of protein in the plant kingdom. It is a seed, not a grain. Low in fat, it's full of slow-release carbs, which balance blood sugar. Containing all eight essential amino acids, it is a useful addition to the diet of exercisers who need more protein than inactive people. Excellent source of energy. 

4. CINNAMON

Stabilizes blood sugar levels, which in turn prevents mood swings and dips in blood sugar post-exercise. As little as half a teaspoonful a day can help to control type 2 Diabetes.

5. SALMON

One of the healthiest forms of protein, bone-friendly salmon is a superb choice for athletes. Also provides one of the highest levels of Omega-3 essential fatty acids and DHA, known for helping reduce post-exercise joint stiffness.
