Chance the Rapper Met His Fiancée When He Was Just 9 — You Have to Read The Cute Love Story

As heartwarming love stories go, Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley have one for the ages.

Ahead of his wedding this weekend, Chance made the internet melt after posting a throwback thread to Twitter on Wednesday that outlined details of how and when he knew his fiancée was the one.

Chance began by declaring, “Storytime. A thread on how I met my wife,” alongside a photo of young Kirsten. He went on to share that in 2003 he went to his mom’s real estate office party, where he was introduced to the girl who become his wife many years later.

The 25-year-old star said, “I was 9 yrs old at the time so I was prolly oblivious to what was going on and had no say in how I spent my evenings, anyway. That being said I was probably playing a gameboy in a corner or eating candy, initially unimpressed by my surroundings.”

Chance explained that a group of three girls performed “Independent Women” by Destiny’s Child, and one of them had quite the profound effect on him right away. “Now I’m locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on earth,” he recalled.

But Chance admits he was timid, saying, “This wasn’t the time or place. Not just because it wasn’t my party, not because it was their moment to dance, not even cause I was nervous about dancing in front of folks. It’s cause I knew I was gonna marry that girl.”

Chance and Kirsten are set to marry this weekend. The longtime couple got engaged over Fourth of July in 2018. He concluded his romantic post with the magical words (try not to tear up!): “I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”

Congrats to the happy couple! Real fam, do you have a special love story?
