Tiffany Haddish is setting the record straight about what want down leading up to her infamous New Year’s Eve standup show.
The comedian memorably performed a rough set in Miami that didn’t go over well. In fact, disappointed fans reportedly walked out, and the gig ended up going viral.
Tiffany tweeted on January 1, “Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again,” and linked to an article about the show.
Now Tiffany is elaborating on exactly why the show went the way it did — and it turns out she had quite the night out the evening before!
In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday, Tiffany asked Kimmel, “You ever have a bad day at work? New Year’s Eve was just one of those… it was a bad day at work.”
She went on to explain that she worked a lot last year and flew directly to Miami after leaving a film set, and a lot of her friends were in town urging her to go out with them to celebrate. Ultimately, her friend convinced her! She went on to admit, “And I danced all night. I drank more than I ever did in my entire life. My kidneys fell out.”
Tiffany was clearly hurting in the morning. She confessed, “When I woke up, I thought I was dead.” When Tiffany made an Instagram video to promote her show that night, she thinks fans probably suspected she wasn’t up for the job. “She not ready! She was not ready!” When she was getting glammed, she said she felt like she was getting ready for her funeral!
It’s not all bad, though. Tiffany will be returning to Miami this summer, and anyone who has a ticket from the New Year’s Eve show will get in for free. If you do pay, all the money from the performance will be donated to the Department of Children's Services.
It looks like Tiffany is making the best of an unfortunate incident!
