The Hosts of 'The Real' Talk Alternate Career Paths

As children we’re constantly asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” But have you asked yourself what you really want to be as an adult?

Even if you’ve chosen a career, it’s never too late to pivot your professional path, according to Kim Kardashian.

The reality star and entrepreneur made headlines last week when she announced she was studying to take the bar and become a lawyer, and she defended her journey in a social media post that responded to those criticizing her choice by telling her to “stay in her lane.”

On Tuesday’s show, the hosts of “The Real” commented on Kim’s news, revealing what passions they would personally pursue outside of entertainment.

Adrienne feels that women shouldn’t have to feel one-dimensional. “You don’t have to be just one thing in your one lane. Occupy all lanes, people!” As someone who has shown an active interest in looking at homes, Adrienne has decided to get her real estate license. She added she wants to show her future children that you don’t have to put yourself in a box.

Loni said she would become a teacher. “I’d take my engineering degree and become a teacher.” She would want to teach first grade!

Tamera also loves kids and teaching, and applied to become a kindergarten teacher after being on “Sister, Sister.”

Jeannie shared some insight, adding, “Who we were in high school changes in your twenties. It evolves in your thirties and it blooms in your forties. I hope you don’t stay in your lane, and I hope you realize that you can make your own by taking on all passions and hobbies in your own way.”

Real fam, have you ever changed your job to pursue your passion? If you were to switch careers, what would you do?
