Bring on the King Cake, beads and crawfish, because it’s a Mardi Gras takeover this Friday on “The Real”!
During Girl Chat, the hosts welcome New Orleans native Brooke Carter to the table, and she’s chatting it up about her favorite hometown celebration. What’s the history behind Mardi Gras, and what’s the best way to celebrate? Tune in for all the answers. Plus, the ladies are getting REAL about mommy guilt and enjoying “you” time.
Next, the hosts invite three lucky audience members onstage to turn up like it’s Bourbon Street. During a fun game of Bead Werk, the ladies toss beads in the air, Mardi Gras-style, to see which viewer can catch the most in a hat. The winner walks aways with $500!
Then, Aloe Blacc brings the music to the party! The “Wake Me Up” singer stops by, and he’s talking fatherhood, meeting Jay Z, and the inspiration behind his new album, “Lift Your Spirit.” He also helps “The Real” ladies remix a N’awlins classic with a special performance of “When the Saints Go Marching In.”
Mardi Gras wouldn’t be complete without some good ol’ Cajun food! The cast of CMT’s “Party Down South” joins the festivities and teaches the hosts how to eat crawfish like a true Southerner.
The biggest surprise of the show comes during She Did That, when “The Real” ladies honor Veronica Everett-Boyce for her work with urban youth. She’s the Founder of Urban Fitness 911, a group that tackles health and fitness in low income communities.
You won't want to miss a minute this TGIF. The hosts are throwing it down like a Louisianimal!
