Actor, producer, talk show host, author and entrepreneur Tamera Mowry-Housley is a co-host of "The Real," the one-hour, daily talk show on FOX television stations and in national syndication (check local listings), with a rebroadcast in primetime on cable network BET.
Mowry-Housley, who has been captivating audiences for over 20 years, started her career in Hollywood alongside twin sister Tia on the hit show "Sister, Sister," which aired over 100 episodes from 1994-1999. "Sister, Sister" made Mowry-Housley a pop culture icon, and she garnered many awards, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series two years in a row; a Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Television Actress three years in a row; and induction into the Kids' Choice Awards Hall of Fame.
In 2011, Mowry-Housley returned to the screen with sister Tia on the hit Style Network reality TV series "Tia and Tamera," which chronicled her life as she balanced her acting career along with the major life transformation of marriage and motherhood. Again, this show broke network records with its ratings, running until 2013. Mowry-Housley and her sister were voted two of the most powerful women on Twitter by AOL Black Voices.
Mowry-Housley’s additional credits include the television movies "Christmas Angel," "Something to Sing About" and "Seventeen Again." She was a series regular on both "Strong Medicine" (Lifetime) and "Roommates" (ABC Family), and had a recurring role on "Melissa and Joey" (ABC Family). She also lent her voice to FOX’s hit show "Family Guy" and Cartoon Network’s "Super Hero Squad Show." Mowry-Housley appeared in the Disney Channel’s original movie "Twitches," one of the channel’s highest-rated movies of all time, as well as the follow-up, "Twitches Too." She also produced and starred in the Lifetime movie "Double Wedding" and on the big screen co-starred in the Rob Schneider comedy "The Hot Chick."
Last year, Mowry-Housley added “author” to her bio as she and her sister began writing a tween book series for HarperCollins. The first book, "Twintuition," hit stores in April 2015. The second book in the series will be released in April 2016.
Mowry-Housley graduated with honors from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on abnormal childhood development. Mowry-Housley was born in Germany then raised in Southern California. Mowry-Housley married FOX News correspondent Adam Housley in May 2011; they welcomed their first child, Aden John Tanner Housley, in November 2012, and their little girl, Ariah, in July 2015.
