Turn-up for the weekend with this delicious chai tea!
INGREDIENTS (serves 4)
1 ½ cups milk
1 ½ cups water
¾ tablespoon black tea
1 ½ tablespoons dark brown sugar
5 whole cloves
½ teaspoon cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cinnamon stick
½ ounces bourbon per drink (optional)
• Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan, and heat until ingredients come to a boil. Then lower the temperature and let simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Next turn off heat and cover the pan. Let steep for 5-7 minutes. Strain tea through a fine sieve.
• Serve in a heavy teapot to keep the drink warm.
• Serve with a sprinkling of cinnamon and a half of once bourbon per mug, if desired.
