Charlie Barnett Would Want to Do This If He Weren't an Actor

If Charlie Barnett didn’t go the acting route, what would he be doing? The answer might not be what you expect.

Charlie is currently a lead on Netflix’s twisty, time-loop series “Russian Doll,” and he’s heated things up on “Chicago Fire.” He’s also a graduate of the prestigious Julliard School.

But when Barnett stopped by to chat with the ladies of “The Real” on Monday, he revealed he has a passion outside of the world of drama.

When Loni asked him what other job he might be doing if he hadn’t made it as an actor, Charlie shared an interesting tidbit, but before responding, he kept things humble.

“I feel like I still got a lot to climb, and I say that as an honor. I don’t feel like I’ve made it. The journey is part of the process, and I think it makes you a better and stronger person,” Charlie said. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have dreams beyond the stage.

“I would love to be a country singer, and I kind of feel embarrassed saying that,” Charlie admitted.

In case you’re wondering – Charlie says he can sing! Looks like one of Jeannie’s Man Crush Mondays is multi-talented!

“Country… I was raised in musical theater, actually, when I started acting, and country is the closest relation. It’s about storytelling,” he explained, adding that he’s liking Kacey Musgraves right now, and that when it comes to his taste, he’s an “old school” kind of guy.

Loni remarked that perhaps a movie will come along in which Charlie will have to use his country crooning chops. We’re here for it!

Real fam, if you weren’t in your current job, what would you want to do?
