Kylie Jenner is only 21 years old, but her bank account is making headlines.
According to Forbes magazine, the makeup mogul and reality star is now “the youngest self-made billionaire ever.”
Mark Zuckerberg previously held the title – the Facebook co-founder reached billionaire status at 23 in 2008.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” Kylie told Forbes of her record-breaking financial success. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”
Jenner also cites “the power of social media” for getting her to where she is today.
When Forbes reported last year that Jenner was on the way to making billions, some took issue with her being described as “self-made.” Even Dictionary.com weighed in on the phrase’s definition, and they weighed in again today.
“Haven't we gone over this? Self-made: Having succeeded in life unaided,” the account wrote.
Kylie explained in an interview with Paper discussing how she achieved her massive fortune, "My parents told me I needed to make my own money, it's time to learn how to save and spend your own money, stuff like that. What I'm trying to say is I did have a platform, but none of my money is inherited."
What do you think of this news, Real fam? Would you call Kylie self-made?
