Rebel Wilson Opens Up About Past Trouble Finding Clothes in Her Size

Rebel Wilson is getting real about her past experience with shopping for size-inclusive clothing. The actress opened up to InStyle about the issues she’s faced, explaining how she even passed on attending a friend’s wedding because she didn’t know where to find a dress for the occasion.

While things have changed over the years for the 38-year-old “Pitch Perfect” star – she says she now has a “wardrobe of custom Givenchy" – she’s also discovered how to feel good in her own skin.

Rebel revealed to the magazine, “Through working with my stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, I’ve learned all these little tips and tricks — and they really work. Then you feel more comfortable when you have to dress up. I remember I didn’t even go to a friend’s wedding in my 20s because I didn’t know where to buy a dress in my size.”

She added that she hopes to share what she’s learned with others going through the same thing. “Now it is very different. My family is going to hate me for saying this, but they raid my closet because we wear similar sizes and they know I have the best fashion taste. I know what I’m talking about now. So I find that I impart a lot of my knowledge, especially to plus-size girls.”

Rebel put her mission into action by launching a clothing line, REBEL WILSON X ANGELS, a collection with sizes 14 to 24.

Rebel told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, "Obviously I just feel like plus-size fashion is underserved, and since the average size of an American woman is 16 to 18, why aren't there more brands, more options? Style shouldn't just stop at size 2 or 4.”
