J.Lo has a new accomplishment to add to her already crowded resume. After decades of walking red carpets, starring in music videos, and showing off her influential street style, the superstar singer will be receiving the 2019 CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Icon Award.
Jennifer is in good and stylish company – past winners include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Pharrell, Naomi Campbell and Iman.
CFDA President and CEO Steven Kolb said in a statement, “Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable.”
Designer Diane von Furstenberg, CFDA Chairwoman, added, “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power.”
Lopez has turned out some undeniably iconic looks over the years that will go down in fashion history, from her green Grammy Awards Versace gown in 2000 to 2015’s ethereal nude princess dress at the Academy Awards. Last year, her Met Gala stunner wowed the crowd.
Jennifer will accept the award at the June 3 CFDA Awards at the Brooklyn Museum. Hmm… we wonder what she’ll wear for her big night!
