Kelly Rowland and More Praise Beyoncé For 'Homecoming’s' Impact

Beyoncé made headlines yesterday when she she dropped her Coachella documentary “Homecoming” on Netflix. Bey has millions of fans around the world, and one of them just happens to be her fellow “Destiny’s Child” member, Kelly Rowland.

Kelly Rowland took to Instagram to praise her longtime friend and collaborator for her creative achievement and to thank her for representing the HBCU experience. You may recall that Beyoncé reunited with Destiny’s Child for the headlining performance.

Kelly gushed, “I never went to college, because I was touring. Had I gone, it would have MOST DEFINITELY BEEN AN HBCU! For my highschoolers out there, who have the opportunity to, choose an HBCU! Everyone I know who has, BRAGS about the experience and I soak up every story and pretend I was there. I didn’t have to pretend in rehearsals, I had a glimpse of the feeling. Thank you sis, for an experience I WILL NEVER FORGET! I love you, genius! If you haven’t yet seen Homecoming, check it out! Let me know what you think! 😉"

Another Destiny’s Child alum, Michelle Williams, sent love to Bey, writing, “Great work @beyonce! So proud of you!! Was blessed to personally witness the amount of work you put into this along with your team that you trusted to help execute your vision. You always say “if I dreamed it that means I can do it” OR “don’t tell me something can’t be done, I had a vision so make it happen!” Let this be a message of when God gives you something to do, trust that He’s given you everything you need to make it happen.”

Of course, it wasn’t just Destiny’s Child shouting out Bey on social media. Stars from Ava DuVernay to Mindy Kaling to Jemele Hill also expressed their excitement.

Even Michelle Obama took the time to share a video applauding the film’s inspiring message.
