Britney Spears Shares an Update Addressing Rumors: 'All Is Well'

Britney Spears is breaking her silence amid rampant speculation about her well-being.

The singer took directly to social media on Tuesday to share a video, checking in with her followers to assure them that “all is well,” amid speculation about her condition.

Britney reportedly checked into a mental health facility last month, and now she’s setting the record straight regarding theories about her situation... which led to the viral #FreeBritney movement. Britney says in the brief clip, “Hey guys. Just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me. All is well. My family is going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.”

Britney also shared a long caption that addressed the rumors head-on, which said in part, “I wanted to say hi, because things that are being said have just gotten out of control!!! Wow!!! There’s rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me. Don’t believe everything you read and hear.”

She went on to address what she called “fake emails," and asked for privacy at this time. “These fake emails everywhere were crafted by Sam Lutfi years ago... I did not write them. He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address. My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment 🌸🌸🌸 You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful.”

The 37-year-old also posted a video of herself working out on Wednesday morning.

Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn had her own message to share yesterday, writing on Instagram, “10 years ago, who was there?? I have been here long before anyone else, and I’ll be here long after. I love my sister with everything I have. So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don’t understand.”

Britney announced in January that she would be pausing her Las Vegas “Britney: Domination” show and taking an indefinite work hiatus to focus on her family while her father deals with health issues.

People magazine reported earlier this month that she had checked into a wellness facility. She captioned an Instagram quote about “taking care of yourself” on April 3, “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time.’”
