Jaden Smith to Play 'Alternate Reality' Kanye West in New Series

Jaden Smith is stepping into Kanye’s Yeezys for an intriguing part – the actor and musician will portray young Kanye West in a new Showtime series, “Omniverse.”

Jaden’s version is not just any Kanye... he’ll be living in “alternate reality” in the half-hour program that examines “the many doors of perception” and “explores Ego through an alternate reality Kanye West,” according to Variety.

The show’s writer, “Silicon Valley”’s Lee Sung Jin, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m honored and thrilled to be collaborating with everyone involved to present an alternate world through the eyes of a young man somewhere in the multiverse who happens to also be a Kanye West. 'Omniverse' is not set in our world nor about our world’s Kanye West, as we aim to add a new spin on alternate realities, consciousness, and push the limits of half-hour narrative.”

Jaden Smith has acted in films “The Karate Kid” and the series “The Get Down.” He recently performed at Coachella, and even brought his dad, Will Smith, to the stage.
