These Stars Shined Bright and Won Big at the 2019 BET Awards!

The 2019 BET Awards was quite the star-studded evening! While we couldn’t get enough of the head-turning looks that showed up on the award show’s blue carpet [, we also couldn’t help but wonder who went home with major trophies in hand!

Mary J. Blige was given a huge honor — she picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed a medley of hits with some special guests. Tyler Perry accepted the Ultimate Icon Award, while H.E.R. aptly received the BET HER Award.

Childish Gambino beat Cardi B, The Carters and Drake for Video of the Year with his visual stunner for “This Is America.” Beyoncé nabbed Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Bruno Mars won best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Travis Scott and Drake won best collaboration for “Sicko Mode,” Best Group went to Migos, and Lil Baby beat new names like City Girls and Queen Naija for Best New Artist. Ella Man won the Viewers’ Choice Awards. The late Nipsey Hussle won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist.

Cardi B had a victorious night, winning for Album of the Year and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. She also took to the stage with Offset for a sultry lap dance! [].

On to the acting categories! Regina Hall — who also played host for the evening — won Best Actress, Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor, and Best Movie went “BlacKkKlansman.” Marsai Martin came out on top in the Young Stars category, and we think she deserves another award for best “winning expression.”

Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year went to Serena Williams and Stephen Curry, respectively.

What do you think of the BET Award winners? Is there someone or something who you would have liked to see win, or someone nominated who wasn’t?
