Jaden Smith Started a Food Truck to Feed L.A.'s Homeless

Jaden Smith turns 21 on Monday, July 8, and he spent the weekend leading up to the milestone birthday by lending a helping hand to others. The musician and actor launched a pop-up food truck in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, serving up healthy, free meals to the homeless.

Jaden shared on Instagram, “The @ILoveYouRestaurant Is A Movement That Is All About Giving People What They Deserve, Healthy, Vegan Food For Free. Today We Launched Our First One Day Food Truck Pop-Up in Downtown LA. Keep A Look Out Because This Is The First Of Many #JADENinc.”

It sounds as though Jaden’s initiative isn’t stopping there, as he noted that the concept was “the first of many.”

Many friends and followers applauded Jaden’s actions in the comments, including Kehlani, Bella Thorne, Nick Cannon, SZA, Jordin Sparks, and Deborah Cox. ara Sharidi wrote, “This is incredible.” Taraji P Henson added, “PROUD OF YOU YOUNG MAN!!!!!,” while Kevin Hart said, “This is so dope… I love what you are doing man.”

Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden’s mom, honored her son for his birthday on Monday morning by sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram, showing off a montage of photos from his childhood until now. A part of her caption read, “You have taught me so much about love and kindness. You have been a powerful teacher in my life. I feel so blessed you chose me to be your mom. Happy 21st to one of my dearest treasures.”

Will Smith posted his own birthday message to Jaden that featured videos of Jaden growing up. At one point, Will is heard saying, “I’m really surprised and proud and terrified of how he’s going out into the world.”
