It was a star-studded night to remember on Tuesday in Hollywood, as the live-action adaptation of “The Lion King” had its worldwide premiere.
The talented cast, which includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, and — oh, yeah — Beyoncé, showed up on the red carpet, as did a slew of other stars. Queen Bey was dressed to impress in a sparkly, head-turning Alexander McQueen look. Her dazzling ensemble even coordinated with daughter Blue Ivy!
Beyoncé, who voices Nala in the film, got some support from her Destiny’s Child family — Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland both attended!
Yvette Nicole Brown, Chrissy Metz, Marsai Martin, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Yara Shahidi, Lena Waithe, Ayesha and Stephen Curry were just a handful of big names who also showed up for the cinematic extravaganza.
The “Lion King” excitement didn’t stop with the screening — Beyoncé released a new song from the film last night called “Spirit.” An album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” will drop, in addition to the movie’s original soundtrack, which according to Disney’s announcement features “global recording artists” and is “steeped in the sounds of Africa.” Oh, and Bey produced the album as well!
