Which celebrities made bank this year? Forbes just unveiled its annual Celebrity 100 list, which ranks the highest-paid musicians, athletes, actors and personalities in the world. The top spots probably won’t surprise you, but some of the names on the roster just might.
Taylor Swift takes the number one spot this year — her “Reputation” tour grossed over 266 million dollars!
Thanks to Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner (aka the world’s youngest self-made billionaire) comes in at number two. Her brother-in-law Kanye West lands at number three. The top ten include a number of athletes, like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Christiano Ronaldo and Canelo Alvarez. Ed Sheeran, Dr. Phil and The Eagles round out that list. Floyd Mayweather and George Clooney were number one and number two in 2018 respectively, but neither of them made the cut this year.
A whopping 38 musicians make up the list of 100 earners, as do 34 athletes. According to Forbes’ data, 9 of those musicians are women and no women were included among the athletes. Only 16 women in total actually cracked the top 100. Among those ladies are author J.K. Rowling (#13), Kim Kardashian West (#26) and Beyoncé (#20). Bey’s husband Jay-Z is also listed in the 20th spot. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Ariana Grande, Scarlett Johansson, Ellen DeGeneres, J.Lo, Sofía Vergara, Lady Gaga, and Céline Dion all nabbed places on the list.
Taylor previously took the number one position in 2016 after her “1989” world tour. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2020 as Kylie’s brand continues to expand, Jay-Z gains billionaire status, and Rihanna’s empire grows.
