Jessica Simpson Mom-Shamed for Dying Daughter’s Hair — So Pink Did This to Support Her

Moms showing up for moms! Jessica Simpson caught internet backlash last week when she posted a picture of her 7-year-old daughter Maxwell showing off purple-dyed ends on her blonde hair, which she explained were “inspired by The Descendants.” Commenters began chiming in on the picture, questioning Jessica's decision to let her daughter color her hair at a “young” age.

Enter Pink, who has continued to be outspoken about social media mom-shaming. The singer came to Jessica’s defense by documenting her weekend in an effort to fire back at the haters, taking to Instagram to reveal her own 8-year-old daughter Willow had dyed her hair blue.

Pink wrote, “I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored. So we thought we’d share what we did yesterday. #bluehairdontcare#getyourownkids#parentpoliceareactuallyjustlonelysadpeople #illdyeyourhairtoolosers#ohlookmanocomments.”

Pink explained to Ellen DeGeneres in April why she would no longer share photos of her kids, Willow and Jameson, on social media. After getting called out for posting a pic of Jameson without his swim diaper, she became too discouraged by the “mean-spirited” trolls. She’s continued to post photos of the children, but it appears she no longer features their faces. Pink told Ellen, “There’s a kind way to be online, and I’m open to kindness.”
