Tiffany Haddish recently said she wasn’t about to spend money on dating, but she did apparently learn a lesson on how to get a crush’s attention from a fellow celebrity. On Wednesday’s “The Last Show With Stephen Colbert,” “The Kitchen” star admitted that singer John Mayer has been giving her dating advice. So, what relationship words of wisdom did the musician offer the comedian?
Tiffany told Stephen, “He [John Mayer] said if there's somebody that I like that's in the eye of the public I should, when I'm doing interviews, say that I'm seeing that person, right? And then the media will do a side-by-side of us and then the guy will see it and he'll be like, 'Oh she's kinda cute. I mean I'm not hooking up with her, but I could hook up with her. And then, there will be some sort of interaction.”
“It will be in his subconscious,” Tiffany elaborated. “And he will attract me to him.”
Hmm, interesting. But does the theory add up? Haddish tried it out for size by pretending that she’s been dating a New York Yankee. She explained jokingly, “I’ve been seeing #27 from the New York Yankees. Yes, I've been seeing him. His name is Giancarlo Stanton. I've been seeing him."
And, voila! A split image of Giancarlo and Tiffany was produced. While the couple isn’t actually dating (only in Haddish’s “dreams”), maybe John Mayer’s little lesson got the baseball player’s attention? Unfortunately for Tiffany, Giancarlo has been linked to model Chase Carter.
Tiffany went on to joke that the six-foot-four, 250-pound athlete could “pick her up” and “burp” her. She added, "I just want him to pick me up and just go like this, 'It's gonna be OK, Tiffany.”
