Eva Marcille Reveals Why She Changed Her Daughter’s Last Name

Eva Marcille is explaining why her daughter Marley Rae no longer has her father Kevin McCall’s last name. Marcille sat down with the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” and opened up about why she changed the 5-year-old’s last name to Sterling.

“I just went through a name change with my firstborn, Marley Rae. Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father’s name. After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom. And then, the good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children,” Eva divulged on Monday.

“So, long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father’s name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name.”

She went on to say that they’ve been going through the “process” of making the official change, which she confessed wasn’t an easy one. Marcille confirmed, “She is now officially and legally Marley Rae Sterling.”
