Chance the Rapper’s year just keeps getting more exciting! The musician and his wife Kirsten Bennett welcomed their second child last week — a baby girl named Marli!
“Our sweet baby girl, Marli, is here,” Kirsten shared on Instagram next to a sweet photo of the newborn in a onesie.
Chance and longtime ladylove Kirsten are already parents to 4-year-old Kensli. The couple got engaged in 2018 and were married this March in a stunning Newport Beach ceremony.
Chance took to social media on Monday to reveal that he’s decided to postpone his tour to focus on his family. In a moving message, the now-dad-of-two shared, “This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work.”
The Grammy-winning artist also explained how he hopes to be present for Marli’s important first months, and that he wants to be around to assist his wife during this precious time.
He opened up by saying, “When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”
In addition to his heartfelt words, Chance apologized to fans and announced that the tour now kicks off January 15.
