Why ‘Women Have to Stick Together’

When the ladies of “The Real” addressed Tamar Braxton’s comments on “The Wendy Williams Show” on Wednesday, they spoke about the continued need for women to support women.

Loni set the record straight about publicly inviting Tamar to come on the show for Season 6 after Tamar remarked she didn’t want to be anybody’s “marketing tool this season” by saying, “Nobody is trying to use you as a marketing tool, sweetie. You apologized to us over the summer, and we just thought to close this loop… just like what Wendy did yesterday with Nene. To mend fences. That’s all. That was the intention and that is it.”

She added, “You are still welcome, my dear, to come on any time. It’s not a big deal. Seriously, we as black women have to stick together. We as women have to stick together. It’s no cattiness. We need to have you come here so we can close the circle.”

Later in the conversation, Tamera expanded on Loni’s idea by explaining why she wants women to lift each other up instead of bringing one another down. Tamera declared, “It’s time for women of color to stop putting each other down. We already have other people doing that. And more importantly, start uplifting each other, loving each other, and stop creating false narratives. I’m tired of it.”
