Garcelle Beauvais assures fans there will be plenty of tense moments in the upcoming 10th season of the “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Over the weekend, the 52-year-old spoke to HollywoodLife.com at the Los Angeles Mission Legacy of Vision Gala about her new Bravo gig.
“I’ve never done reality before. I’ve always been an actor, and you get scripts and you know what to do,” the “Jamie Foxx Show” actress explained. “So this has been really interesting. But so far, so good. I can’t complain. I’m sure I will at some point.”
Though some fans believe the hit franchise will be devoid of drama after original Housewife Lisa Vanderpump’s departure, Beauvais wants everyone to know these rumors are simply “wrong.”
“You know, I think that’s wrong. I mean, I think like Lisa Vanderpump had her time and I think this is a new energy. You can’t compare. This is new energy, new life, and new stories… That was then, this is now,” the thespian divulged. “Everybody wants drama. There will be some… I mean, you’ve got to watch the show, but I will always keep it real.”
The “NYPD Blue” alum was announced as a cast member for the reality TV show in August, alongside Sutton Stracke.
“I am excited and proud to be joining the cast of such a wildly popular and beloved show like ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ Garcelle told The Daily Dish. “As the first African-American Housewife in the Beverly Hills franchise, I am honored and humbled by this awesome opportunity to exemplify the fact that Black Girl Magic lives and thrives in every zip code!”
