Katie Holmes Says She & Daughter Suri Cruise ‘Grew Up Together’

Katie Holmes and her 13-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, are more than just mother-daughter.

While speaking to Elle UK for their December issue, the “Woman in Gold” actress opened up about having her child when she was 27.

“I was happy to become a mum in my twenties. It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match,” she exclaimed. “We kind of grew up together.”

To celebrate the teenager’s recent birthday in April, the 40-year-old treated Suri and her friends to a Parisian getaway! Reportedly, the party enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Les Ombres restaurant, where they dined on caviar and non-alcoholic mojitos.

In the interview, Holmes also dished on her recent “Dawson’s Creek” reunion, where she appeared on the cover of Entertainment Weekly with former castmates James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams.

“It was really nice. We all went out to dinner and, I think, for all of us to really sit back in amazement that people still watch it and care about it,” she said. “It was bigger than all of us and we all feel grateful that we got to contribute to it and benefit from it. We all got so many opportunities because of it.”

Katie and Tom Cruise — Suri’s father — got married in 2006 and finalized their divorce in 2012.
