Sam Hunt was arrested early Thursday morning in Nashville for drunk driving.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, the country crooner was allegedly driving the wrong way down a street, and was swerving in and out of his lane. He also allegedly crossed the center divider several times.
When cops spotted and pulled over the “Body Like a Back Road” singer, he allegedly smelled of booze and had bloodshot eyes. Authorities say he had two empty beer cans next to him, and later admitted to “recently” drinking.
The musician allegedly had trouble finding his driver’s license, though it was sitting on his lap. He reportedly also tried to give police his credit card and passport.
After taking a field sobriety test, Hunt allegedly showed signs of impairment. Police say his blood alcohol level was .173, which is more than twice the legal limit.
The 34-year-old was booked into the Metro-Davidson County Detention Facility at around 6 a.m. and was released a little after 9 a.m. on a $2,500 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court January 17, 2020.
