‘The Real’ Reacts to Joe Budden Understanding Kevin Hart’s Cheating

“The Real” sounds-off on Joe Budden’s controversial comments about Kevin Hart’s infidelity scandal.

During an episode of “The Joe Budden Podcast,” the broadcaster said he “can understand” why the actor cheated on wife Eniko Hart, which was detailed in the Netflix docuseries “Kevin Hart: Don't ---- This Up.”

“He works really hard. I can work harder. Like, I can see how he ------ cheat," the former rapper exclaimed. "In thinking about how hard he works, sometimes you’re not home but for 10 seconds in the day, for however many days, and I, as a man, can understand how that can be difficult.”

However, on Wednesday’s live episode, hosts Amanda Seales, Loni Love, Adrienne Houghton, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley were not as forgiving about Hart’s adultery.

Right off the bat, Adrienne exclaimed of Budden's take, “I think it’s hysterical. Just him stopping and saying the part about, ‘You know how hard he works.’ Does the working affect his integrity, his moral standing, his moral compass? I don’t think it does.”

While Houghton applauded Hart “for being so transparent” in the show, she does not agree with Budden’s justification for Kevin’s actions “at all.”

“I don’t agree that because you’re away or you’re working so hard that that should affect the sanctity of your marriage,” Adrienne added. “If there is a problem in your marriage or you feel like you are not having sex, that should be discussed. I think if he’s working so hard, he probably has enough money to fly her, and be with him.”

Additionally, Mowry-Housley brought up the point that infidelity doesn’t just affect one’s spouse; it also hurts one’s children.

“My pet peeve is when people justify cheating. I don’t care what legitimate reason you have in your head of why you cheated,” the “Sister, Sister” alum said. “It’s still not okay. And I feel like, people aren’t perfect. I’m not saying, 'Oh, because he cheated, he’s a bad person.' I’m saying, ‘Own that.’ Own that it wasn’t the best choice, because cheating is selfish. You have to realize that you’re not just affecting yourself by doing that. You’re affecting other people. If you have children, now there are children part of that.”

In the third episode of the reality series, Eniko revealed she found out about his affair after she was DMed a video of him sleeping with another woman.

“I don't know who it was,” she explained. “They sent me an edited video of Kevin and another woman. I was pregnant at that time. I was about seven or eight months pregnant and I was having breakfast and I opened my phone and immediately I just lost it. I called him, I'm crying, I'm like, pissed. Right then and there, I just kept saying, 'How the ---- did you let that happen?'"

She added, “You publicly humiliated me. Everything is on Instagram, everything is on social media. So it was an ongoing fight all the time. Every single day. I kept questioning him, like, 'If this is what you want to do, I don’t want to be a part of that.’”

Despite the drama, the couple — who are the parents of 2-year-old son Kenzo — are still together.
