Amy Schumer Undergoes IVF in Hopes of Second Pregnancy

Amy Schumer is looking to expand her family with husband Chris Fischer.

On Thursday on Instagram, the “Inside Amy Schumer” star revealed she is undergoing IVF, an experience she described as “emotional.”

While sharing an image of her bruised stomach, the “I Feel Pretty” actress — who welcomed son Gene in May 2019 — asked for advice from anyone who has undergone the process, in which an egg is combined with sperm outside of the body.

“I’m a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional,” the comic wrote. “If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do.”

She added, “We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling.”

In the comments section, friend Selena Gomez wrote, “I’m praying for you and chris. I’m sorry!”

Gomez later clarified her apology, writing in a follow-up comment, “Let me clear that up. I said I’m sorry she’s feeling that way. My mom went through the same thing. It’s hard on women’s heart.”

During her first pregnancy, the funny lady revealed in November 2018 that she was hospitalized for hyperemesis gravidarum — a type of severe nausea and vomiting — and was forced to cancel a show at the Winspear Opera House.

Fortunately, the baby was fine.

Schumer and Fischer tied the knot at a Malibu, California, ceremony in February 2018.
