Amanda Seales spilled some serious tea on Monday’s live episode of “The Real.”
During Girl Chat, the “Insecure” actress — along with co-hosts Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley — discussed a recent Daily Star article that reported Shaggy refused to audition to appear on Rihanna’s upcoming ninth album.
While discussing the story, the “Bring the Funny” presenter mentioned how she once declined a television job because she didn’t support how the cast conducted themselves.
Despite being “broke as a joke,” Seales chose her principles over a paycheck.
“I was broke as a joke at one point, and they asked me to host the ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ reunion. I just don’t support the behaviors that are really promoted on that show, and I just couldn’t do it. And yo, when I tell you I was broke, I was broke,” Amanda revealed.
She added, “And I really couldn’t do it, and it wasn’t about pride, it was about my integrity, and my self-worth.”
Last week, Shaggy told the British newspaper, “They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record — I’ll leave that to younger guys. But from what I hear, it should be good.”
The “It Wasn’t Me” singer released his twelfth studio album, “Wah Gwaan?!,” in May 2019, and dropped his collaboration album with Sting, “44/876,” the year prior.
