Social Media Reacts to Jennifer Lopez’s Oscars Snub!

Jennifer Lopez didn’t get nominated for an Oscar — and the Internet is furious!

On Monday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released its lists of nominees, which did not include the actress/singer/dancer for her critically acclaimed portrayal of a stripper in “Hustlers.”

When news of the snub went viral, social media users could not contain their dismay, and vented their frustrations on Twitter.

“Surprised and bummed to not see Jennifer Lopez on this list. She was magnetic in ‘Hustlers,’” one commenter exclaimed.

“Weird that Jennifer Lopez wasn’t even nominated for supporting actress. Feels like not that long ago she was the favorite,” another wrote.

Additionally, Tyler Perry was angered by the news.

While leaving NBC Studios in New York, the writer/director told TMZ, “I’m upset, man. J.Lo didn’t get nominated, are you kidding me?... She shoulda gotten nominated.”

The Tyler Perry Studios founder also believed Awkwafina — who won a Golden Globe for her role in “The Farewell” — should have been honored as well.

Despite being shut out by the Oscars, Lopez was nominated for a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for starring in the crime drama.

The Oscars air February 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
