Can Rihanna and Drake “Work” it out?
Last Friday, the two hip-hop artists were seen together at the 2020 Yams Day benefit concert in Brooklyn after the “Umbrella” singer reportedly ended her relationship with her boyfriend of nearly three years, Hassan Jameel.
Back in 2016, Drake and Rihanna were reported to be dating after collaborating on songs such as “What’s My Name?” and “Take Care.”
On Wednesday’s live episode of “The Real,” Loni Love explained why the Internet is obsessed with their rumored relationship, exclaiming, “This is the hip-hop Brad [Pitt] and Jennifer [Aniston]. We want to see them [together].”
Adrienne Houghton elaborated on this, and referenced the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, when the rapper called the songstress “someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old” while presenting her with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.
“The reason for that is… they made amazing music together and I would also say that I think all of us have us seen Drake put his heart on his sleeve, so to speak, for her,” she said. “I thought that was a beautiful moment. So, I think that we all want Rihanna to receive the love that we all think she deserves.”
However, Jeannie Mai brought the conversation back to earth, and reminded everyone that we simply do not know the truth about their potential fling.
“It’s so weird to me that we only know things from these moments and pictures,” she exclaimed. “How we all up in their business! Like, we really don’t know the truth behind it.”
Regardless if Rihanna is with Drake or not, Love admires her spirit and independent attitude.
“I think that’s what a lot of women relate to her from, and it just shows that you can be independent, you can still be vulnerable, you could hang out,” the comic noted.
At the charity bash, Rihanna was also spotted with fellow rumored ex A$AP Rocky. However, according to TMZ, the A$AP Mob rapper said their relationship was platonic in 2013.
