Let’s get loud, Miami!
During a press conference on Thursday, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira gave a few hints about their upcoming performance at the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.
The “Hustlers” actress revealed there will be a "heartfelt" tribute to Kobe Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
The “Whenever, Wherever” singer added, “We'll all be remembering Kobe on Sunday and celebrating life and diversity in this country. I'm sure he'd be very proud to see the message we are trying to convey onstage that day."
Though Lopez was careful not to give away too many details, the 50-year-old said the extravaganza will be “packed.”
"When we did the first run-through, Shakira was like, 'That was great.' It's different what we do," Lopez explained. "It's very Shakira and very Jennifer."
Though the two have different styles, Shakira noted that she and Lopez complement each other.
"Two Latinas doing this in this country at this time is very empowering for us," Lopez added.
On Friday, Jennifer told “Good Morning America” that her fiancé Alex Rodriguez and all of their kids will see her set at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
“You know Alex. He’ll be as close as he can get to that stage!” she joked. “Alex and all of our kids will be watching, they’ll all be in the stadium.”
Lopez shares 11-year-old twins, Emme Maribel and Maximilian “Max” David, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez has two daughters, 11-year-old Ella Alexander and 15-year-old Natasha Alexander, from a previous relationship.
