Rapper Pop Smoke Shot and Killed at Age 20

Pop Smoke was shot and killed in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning. He was 20.

Per TMZ, the rapper was inside of a Los Angeles home owned by “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp and her husband Edwin Arroyave when two men wearing hoodies and masks allegedly broke in.

The suspects then reportedly fired multiple shots — gravely wounding the MC — before fleeing on foot.

The artist, also known as Bashar Jackson, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, where he was pronounced dead.

An LAPD representative later confirmed his passing to Rolling Stone.

Though law enforcement officials have yet to uncover a motive, they say there was a party or gathering at the property where Pop Smoke was staying.

Wednesday on Instagram, Mellencamp confirmed that a shooting occurred at one of her rental houses.

While sending “prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss of life,” the reality TV personality and her husband “aren’t aware of any of the details beyond what we’ve been told or seen reported on the news.”

Fellow rapper Nicki Minaj also commented on the tragic story by posting a pic of Pop Smoke with the cyptic caption, “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.”

He will be missed.
