Tyler Perry’s Incarcerated Nephew Found Hanged; Family Suspicious About Death

Tyler Perry’s nephew, who was arrested in 2016 for allegedly shooting and killing his biological father in front of his mother, is dead at 26.

According to TMZ, Gavin Porter was found hanged with bedsheets while in solitary confinement Tuesday night.

Though Porter’s family was told there was no foul play involved, sources say they are skeptical.

Per insiders, Gavin got into an altercation with another inmate over the weekend and was put in isolation.

Reportedly, guards at the Louisiana facility went to his cell around 6 p.m. and found nothing of concern.

However, officers reportedly came back on Tuesday around 8 p.m. and found him dead.

After being arrested, Porter pleaded no contest to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Authorities say an argument between Gavin and his father led to the fatal shooting.
