Kim Kardashian didn’t mean to start beef with 5-year-old rapper, ZaZa!
Monday in France, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star’s husband, Kanye West, debuted his Yeezy Season 8 collection as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Amid the rapper’s unique fashion, the show also featured a surprise performance from the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, North West!

However, after Kimye’s eldest rocked the stage, ZaZa’s parents noticed similarities between North’s song and their daughter’s viral hit “What I Do?”
While posting a clip of the “What I Do?” music video, ZaZa’s parents wrote on Instagram, “We take PRIDE in creativity, and believe whether a child’s involved or an adult... creativity deserves RESPECT/homage! What @kimkardashian (Kanye west) are doing with their daughter... with the inspiration of ZaZa & our family in mind is okay... we not mad BUT PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!!”
They continued, “We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don’t wanna feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED.”
That day, Kim responded to their post – saying she “didn’t mean to not give credit where credit was due” – and clarified that North’s song was a remix of ZaZa’s.
“We love you, North is a huge fan and records in the studio all the time with her dad and is inspired by ZaZa and loves [11-year-old rapper That Girl] Lay Lay too!” the KKW Beauty founder exclaimed. “Todays performance of North’s remix of ZaZa’s song was something she asked to do at the last minute and a complete surprise. I didn’t mean to not give credit where credit was due.”
Additionally, the SKIMS designer “would love for the girls to meet soon!"
The reality TV star added on Twitter:
I’m so proud of my Northie!!!!!! Her 1st performance had me in tears! She had an impromptu performance on stage at her dads Yeezy Season 8 fashion show! Shout out to Zaza!!! @redcarpetZaZa North hopes you like the remix!!! pic.twitter.com/f9Zas0OLlz

Fortunately, ZaZa’s parents accepted Kim’s mea culpa, and wrote on IG Story, “ALL LOVE, ALL GOOD.”
