‘Lost’ Star Evangeline Lilly Refuses to Self-Quarantine Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Evangeline Lilly is going about her business amid our current global health crisis.

This week on Instagram, the “Lost” alum shared a photo of her “morning tea,” where she revealed she just dropped her kids off at gymnastics class.

“They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing,” the actress wrote, adding the hashtag #businessasusual.

However, several fans questioned why she took her children to class, given recommendations to engage in “social distancing” to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Per different outlets, the 40-year-old reportedly responded to commenters, and suggested she is choosing her “freedom” over her life. The “Ant-Man” star also reportedly said she is living with her father, who has stage 4 leukemia, and is “immune compromised” herself.

“I am also immune compromised at the moment,” she reportedly wrote. “I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”

Additionally, Lilly considers the coronavirus to simply be a “respiratory flu,” and believes the government may have a hidden agenda.

“Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law [sic] for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu,” she told a different fan. “It’s unnerving… Let’s be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don’t abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power.”

Evangeline Lilly's response

When another social media user said, “I think something is going on behind the scenes… every few years some disease come out quick [and] then disappears as quick as it came,” Lilly answered, and said she believes this supposed coincidence might have to do with the 2020 presidential election.

“There’s ‘something’ every election year,” she wrote.

Evangeline Lilly's response

Last year, Lilly appeared in “Avengers: Endgame,” and is slated to star in the upcoming dramatic thriller “Dreamland” alongside Armie Hammer and Gary Oldman.
