Shereé Whitfield reveals the devastating news that her mother, Thelma Ferguson, has been missing since March.
While posting a loving photo of her mom Wednesday on Instagram, the former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” says she has been in contact with the police for the past two weeks.
“Please keep my mom and my family in your prayers! We all know that prayers can move mountains!!!” the reality TV personality began her post.
According to authorities via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ferguson, 77, was last seen by family on March 23 after leaving her house to go to the bank. She was reportedly wearing gray pants and a black shirt, and was driving a gray 2009 Honda Accord with Georgia tag RMZ5773.
Per Sandy Springs police Sgt. Salvador Ortega, Ferguson has no known medical issues.
In her post, Whitfield says she was initially hesitant to share this announcement because she is a private person, and because Ferguson has gone on “personal vacations” in the past “without letting the family know.”
However, Whitfield notes “this is the longest she [has] gone without reaching out to anyone from the family or her friends.”
While asking her social media followers to “pray for my mother’s safe return home,” she urges anyone with information to call the Sandy Springs Police Department at 770-551-6923, or to contact the assigned detective at rgehricke@sandyspringsga.gov.
“Right now, we are leaning on God and staying positive and prayerful for her safe return home. HOME is where the HEART is and prayer in numbers work,” Whitfield added. “As we all continue to navigate through these uncertain times, remember the blessings of having each other.... Family is everything!”
Whitfield, who appeared on the first season of “RHOA,” left the show in Season 5, rejoined as a “Friend” in Season 8, and then became a “Housewife” again for Seasons 9 and 10. She left the Bravo show before Season 11.
Sending love and light to Shereé and her family during this trying time.
