Evelyn Lozada Announces Stepfather Has Died Due to Coronavirus

Evelyn Lozada reveals the devastating news that her stepfather Larry has passed away due to the coronavirus.

Tuesday on Instagram, the “Basketball Wives” star shared a throwback picture of Larry while announcing that he died earlier this month.

“On Monday 4/6/20 I lost my stepfather Larry to Covid-19,” the reality TV personality wrote.

While sharing another snap of Larry holding her daughter Shaniece Hairston, now 26, as a baby, Lozada remembers “the great memories” the two shared. (Lozada also has son, Carl Leo Crawford, 6, with ex-fiancé Carl Crawford.)

“Larry, as you sit in heaven enjoying the company of God, I say thank you for the great memories & thank you for being the greatest stepfather a girl can ask for! Happy birthday in paradise,” she said.

Erik Rodriguez, identified by Bossip as Lozada’s stepbrother, also paid tribute to Larry, his father, with a touching post on his IG page.

“Pops we spoke about when this time would come and here we are today. Who would’ve have ever thought it would end like this. I saw you just two weeks ago and when we spoke yesterday you sounded great,” Rodriguez wrote.

Despite his dad’s passing, Rodriguez can still feel Larry’s presence around him.

“As I hugged my son this morning, I could feel your love around us and know without a doubt you’re in a better place and looking over us,” he added. “Thank you for your words of wisdom, being a straight shooter, and an amazing father.”

R.I.P. Larry. You will be missed.
