Chris Cuomo’s 14-Year-Old Son Also Tests Positive for COVID-19

Weeks after Chris Cuomo announced his coronavirus diagnosis, it has been announced that his son Mario, 14, also contracted the illness.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, celebrating Earth Day and mourning the death of late photographer Peter Beard, Chris's wife Cristina — who also tested positive for COVID-19 but has since been cleared — revealed the heartbreaking news about their son's health.
“After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one-day and terrible the next, I am now working toward getting my son, Mario, through the virus,” Cristina wrote.
“My heart hurts more than my head over his infection,” she continued. “This virus does not discriminate. While kids are more resilient, they can suffer [the] same severity of symptoms.”
While noting that Mario has lost his sense of taste and smell, she is giving him a treatment, similar to the one administered to her, that focuses on vitamins and healthy foods “that I normally can't get him to touch.”

On Wednesday's broadcast of “Cuomo Prime Time,” Cuomo spoke to his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, about his family's battle with the virus.
"The virus worked through the family," Chris said on CNN. "It was me and Cristina, and now Mario has the same symptoms she had, and he's got the coronavirus."
Despite this, Chris says Mario and Cristina are “doing fine.”
"He's going to be okay,” Governor Cuomo added about his nephew.
After spending weeks self-isolating in his house's basement, Chris was finally able to reunite with his family this past weekend.
“The moment,” Chris captioned a video of himself walking up the stairs to greet his wife and children. “I emerged from the basement this past weekend and could be close to my family inside the house again. LETS GET AFTER IT!!!”
