Hope Solo and husband Jerramy Stevens are a family of four.
Thursday on Instagram, the former soccer goalkeeper announced she gave birth to the couple’s twins last month, on March 4.
Introducing… Vittorio Genghis and Lozen Orianna Judith Stevens!
In a video posted to LeBron James’ media company Uninterrupted, the athlete opened up about giving birth amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“What have we been doing during our time in quarantine? Well, as you can see we’ve been incredibly busy. Please meet Vittorio and Lozen Stevens both born in the middle of a pandemic on March 4. It has been incredibly stressful times for us,” she said while holding her bundles of joy.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist also expressed her gratitude to the “incredible” hospital employees who delivered and cared for her babies.
“We’ve been out in public more than we wanted to be, but we would like to thank all the incredible nurses and the doctors who helped take care of our babies during our time in NICU,” she remarked. “From the Stevens family and the new additions to the Stevens family, we would like to wish everybody health, happiness and safety.”
Solo’s twin pregnancy and delivery comes years after she miscarried twins, an experience that almost killed her.
“The doctor said I was hours from dying,” she told Elle in 2018. “They ended up having to remove my fallopian tube.”
She also told the magazine that she had begun IVF.
Solo and Stevens, a former NFL tight end, married in November 2012.
Congratulations on your new additions!
