Rupert Grint just welcomed a magical baby girl with longtime love Georgia Groome!
On Thursday, a representative for the couple told People, “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time.”
The pair — who have been dating since 2011 — announced they were expecting just last month after Groome, also an actor, was seen in London showing off her baby bump.
Of course, Grint — known for playing Ron Weasley in the “Harry Potter” film series — has been vocal about wanting to start a family.
After he turned 30, he told The Guardian in 2018 about his plans to become a father.
“Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds,” he revealed to the outlet. “I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters, and see what happens. I’d like to settle down and have kids soon.”
However, it is unlikely the couple will name their girl, or a future child, after Grint’s iconic character.
“If I had a son, would I call him Ron?" Grint joked to the newspaper. “It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”
Congratulations to Rupert and Georgia on their new addition!
