TikTok user @---joshy is apologizing for a prank in which he spilled a large tub of cereal and milk onto a New York subway floor.
In a YouTube video posted Thursday, the social media personality says sorry to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and its essential workers who were forced to clean up his unnecessary mess.
“I’m an idiot. I’m such a ------- idiot,” he began the video. “Trust me, I am experiencing the consequences of all of my actions right now.”
Though Joshy thought the video would make people laugh and bring joy amid the coronavirus pandemic, he acknowledges that it was “way off the mark” and “not funny.”
In the TikTok posted Tuesday, Joshy is seen pouring a box of Fruity Pebbles and a gallon of milk into a large tub while riding the subway.
After he eats the cereal from a ladle, he grabs the tub and announces to the entire car if they would like some of his snack. He proceeds to drop the tub on the ground, forcing passengers to clear a path.
Though he scoops some of the cereal back in with his hands, a considerable mess is left after the mischievous act.
The next day, the MTA condemned Joshy’s actions, exclaiming on Twitter, “A new low: Pulling a prank on essential workers in the middle of a global pandemic. And making essential workers clean up your mess. Despicable.”
On Thursday morning, the NYPD told TMZ they “are looking into the matter.”
A clip of the prank posted on Twitter has received over 6.2 million views.
