Michael Kopech and pregnant Vanessa Morgan are breaking up six months after getting married.
Per the Chicago Tribune on Monday, the White Sox pitcher filed for divorce in Morris County, Texas, on June 19. A hearing date was not listed.
News of the couple’s split comes days after the “Riverdale” actress announced her pregnancy last Friday on Instagram.
While sharing a series of videos and pics, including ones from her gender reveal party, Morgan announced she is expecting a baby boy next January.
“Exciting news... I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January,” she wrote. “This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!!”
As seen in one of the snaps, Morgan found out she was pregnant on the morning of May 20, in Texas.
Kopech, however, is not featured in any pictures, nor he is referenced in the post.

Exciting news... I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙. This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!! On a personal note, I have had the blessing of growing up in the public eye having started my acting career at age 6. While this has been incredible for me, I am very much looking forward to giving this little guy some room to grow up outside of the public eye, until he tells me otherwise 🙂. Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing ☺️ I’m just so happy & can’t wait to dedicate everyday to being the best mommy I can be ♥️ “I’ll love you forever I’ll like you for always as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be 🎶 “- if you know you know #preggers 🤰🏽 #quarantine🎁 👶🏼
On Monday, Morgan’s representative confirmed to People that Kopech is the father of Morgan’s baby, but declined to comment on the divorce filing.
This January, Kopech and Morgan tied the knot at a ceremony held at the Walton Historic House in Homestead, Florida.
Per “E! News,” guests included Morgan’s CW costars Skeet Ulrich, Drew Tanner, and Madelaine Petsch — who plays Morgan’s on-screen girlfriend. Morgan’s sister Celina served as her maid of honor.
“We both knew the first day we met that this is it, and I’m so excited that today officially starts our forever,” Morgan told the news channel at the time. “Today, I vowed to love my best friend for a lifetime and it was a day spent with those we love in a room filled with endless love. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.”
