Eva Marcille shares a beautiful moment between her and daughter Marley Rae Sterling.
Thursday on Instagram, the “America’s Next Top Model” Season 3 winner posted an adorable video of her daughter moments before the young girl leaves for school.
“Good morning. You look adorable, buggy. Did you wanna wear your cow boots today? It’s your favorite.” the former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” said to Marley, who accessorized her cute dress with a backpack and lunchbox.
Eva then gave her daughter the ultimate pep talk, saying, “You go have a blessed and beautiful day, and remember, you can do anything, right? Say it.”
Marley adorably responds, “I can do anything!”
In the caption, Eva expressed her love for Marley by using lyrics from one of Stevie Wonder’s best-known hits.
“You are the sunshine of my life, That’s why I’ll always stay around,” Eva wrote. “You are the apple of my eye, Forever you’ll stay in my heart.”
In the clip, Marley also exclaims, “Black is king!” referencing Beyoncé’s recent visual album for Disney+.
“Let ’em know!” the proud mother responded. “Let ’em know! That’s my baby right there.”
“By the way Marley is definitely a full member if not the leader of the young beehive be clear @Beyonce is her idol,” Eva added in her caption.
During an August 2019 segment on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” co-host Eva opened up about legally changing her daughter’s last name from McCall to Sterling, after stepfather Michael Sterling.
“Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father [Kevin McCall]’s name,” she said. “After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom. And then, the good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. Long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father’s name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name.”
In a November 2019 episode of “The Real,” Eva said Marley does not know that Michael is not her biological father and that the family has not “gotten to the place where we explain things yet.”
“She still believes in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and things like that. She doesn’t know that her dad is a dad by choice, by God, Michael, and not her biological father. I don’t think she understands that now,” she dished. “The truth is my job as a mom and as a parent is to protect my daughter, and I’m going to protect her at all cost, and no matter what it takes. So, if that means shielding her from the truth, I’m going to do that until her innocence is no longer.”
In June, Eva announced she was leaving “RHOA” after three seasons.
“I appreciate the bond of friendship that I’ve made with my castmates and strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers of Bravo,” she said in a statement, adding, “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.”
Eva and Michael tied the knot in October 2018, and also share sons Michael Todd Sterling Jr., born April 2018, and Maverick, born September 2019.
