Chrissy Teigen’s Pregnancy Was a ‘Quarantine Surprise,’ Says Husband John Legend

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen had a bit of a “surprise” during the quarantine.

On Monday’s broadcast of “Today,” the “All of Me” singer revealed that his wife’s recent pregnancy, which will result in their third child, was unplanned.

“It was a surprise. A little quarantine surprise, I guess you could say,” the Grammy winner told host Craig Melvin. “But we’re very excited, and we’re grateful for all the well-wishes we’ve gotten from people all around the world. Thank you so much.”

Last Thursday, the couple revealed their baby news at the end of Legend’s “Wild” music video, in which Teigen is seen caressing her baby bump.

Later that day, the “Cravings” cookbook author showed off her baby bump again by posting a selfie video on Twitter.

“Look at this third-baby s---,” Teigen said in the clip. “What the... oh, my God!”

Over the weekend, the “Chrissy’s Court” star revealed on Twitter that she was pregnant during a breast implant removal surgery but did not know it.

“I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative,” she explained. “A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I’ve taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before.”

On June 19, the day Legend released his album “Bigger Love,” Teigen took another pregnancy test — which came back positive.

“I was scared,” she wrote. “Was pretty positive you shouldn’t get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure.”

While Teigen conceived her and Legend’s first two kids — daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2 — through IVF, she was able to get pregnant naturally for baby number three.

“So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just felt...bad,” she revealed. “But what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you. In summary, my boobs hurt.”

Despite this, Teigen shares a message to those who are struggling with fertility issues.

“But man. I hope this gives anyone out there some hope. IVF was an amazing choice for us to be able to make. So hard, but we got two beautiful monsters out of it. I promise you, I never ever ever ever ever thought I could.”

The couple — who met on the set of Legend’s 2006 music video “Stereo” — tied the knot September 14, 2013, in Como, Italy.
