MC Lyte and husband John Wyche are calling it quits.
Per TMZ on Thursday, the rapper, born Lana Michele Moorer, filed for divorce from the Marine Corps veteran and entrepreneur Monday in Los Angeles.
The “Cold Rock a Party” MC cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Back in August 2017, the two tied the knot at the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort on the beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica.

While friend and singer Kelly Price sang to the couple during the ceremony communion, DJ Jermaine spun tunes at the reception. Attendees included YoYo, Niatia “Lil Mama” Kirkland, Tai Beauchamp, and SWV’s Coko.
“It’s incredible so many people came out to support our union. We are starting out with a strong foundation,” Wyche said at the time. “A few months into getting to know Lana, I knew I wanted this woman as my wife.”
According to Essence, the couple met in 2016 on Match.com after she sent him a message.
Months later, in January 2017, the hip-hop artist debuted their relationship on Instagram.
“What can I say, except thank you Lord!! It’s been a long time, this singe life, and I thank you all for your prayers and kind words of hope,” she wrote at the time. “God has sent me true love. For all of you waiting on LOVE- don’t give up - keep God first and he will see that you meet your match. #godisall”
