Singer Blanco Brown Suffers ‘Significant Injuries’ After Head-On Crash

Blanco Brown, a country rap artist known for his 2019 viral hit “The Git Up,” is currently hospitalized following a car accident.

Per a statement from his record label BBR Music Group posted Thursday on Twitter, the 35-year-old was involved in a head-on collision Monday night near his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

The company said the artist “suffered significant injuries,” and was transported to a local hospital to undergo a 12-hour surgery.

“Additional surgeries are expected as he currently rests in the ICU,” the statement read. “Blanco, his family, and his friends ask for your prayers during this time.”

Earlier this week on Instagram, Brown showed off the multiple packages of Big League Chew bubble gum he received from fans.

“I appreciate y’all!!!! Everyone in my session blew bubbles all night and morning!!!” he captioned a video of him at a recording studio.

While speaking to People in February, Brown revealed that he keeps in touch with fans after his phone number was accidentally posted while announcing a “Today” show appearance.

“I made it a line for my fans. I call them my friends. I talk to people one or two times a week,” he said. “I give them words of encouragement and tell them to stay in school and blessing and thanking them.”

As of this writing, the music video for “The Git Up” has been viewed over 80 million times on YouTube.

Sending love and positive energy to Blanco during this difficult time.
